Power Outage



Nearly 9,000 people in southeastern Minnesota were without power Thursday afternoon.
                
KTTC-TV reports a power outage in Byron and Kasson disrupted power for about 2,000 people for an hour and a half Thursday. The outage also affected the stoplights in Byron along Highway 14.

According to Xcel Energy, the outage started around 1:00 p.m. and initially knocked out power for roughly 8,900 people across the region.

Most people had their power restored within a few minutes and power was fully restored around 2:30 p.m.

Xcel is still investigating the cause of the outage.
