Precinct Caucuses

Just a little under a month to go before political parties in Minnesota will hold their precinct caucuses.

Caucuses for the 2014 election campaigns will be held across the state on Tuesday, February 4th, for all political parties.

The caucuses are grassroots neighborhood informal gatherings where political positions and party platforms are discussed and adopted. Delegates are also selected to party endorsing conventions.

The Secretary of State's Office says its Precinct Caucus Finder will be available starting on January 15th. The finder displays caucus locations provided by the DFL and GOP Parties along with the Independence Party.

Voters may also contact  their political party to find their caucus location.

The candidate filing period runs from May 20th through June 3rd.
