Rural Intersection Systems



Minnesota Department of Transportation crews are activating rural intersection conflict warning systems (RICWS) this week, including two in Olmsted County.
                     
Tuesday,  MnDOT crews will be activating systems near Rochester, one at Highway 63 and Olmsted County Road 21/ 121 north of Rochester. And another at Highway 42 and Olmsted County Road 9 north of Eyota.
               
RICWS is a statewide project that uses systems to address crashes at stop-controlled intersections by providing drivers with a dynamic warning of other vehicles approaching the intersection.
