The Winona Steamboat Days Festival Committee has announced that Michael Gostomski, the President and CEO of Winona Heating and Ventilating, has been chosen as Grande Marshall for Sunday's grande parade.
Gostomski is one of the original founders of the Fastenal Company and he and his wife Joette have shared their generosity and supported many Winona initiatives including his alma maters of Cotter High School and St. Mary's University. They have also received top honors for their giving.
The Festival Committee has also announced that the Morrie Miller Athletic Foundation has been chosen as the Sports Grande Marshall for the parade.
The Foundation has gone from raising $25,000 in its initial year 2004 to over $300,000 in 2013 for local youth sports programs and activities.
It's named in honor of Morrie Miller who was an outstanding athlete at Winona High School in the early1960s.
