Six felony counts of possession of child pornography have been filed in Winona District Court against a 51-year-old Winona man.
According to the criminal complaint, the charges were filed against John David Seeger following a two and a half-year investigation conducted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The complaint says the investigation started in January of 2010 when the Minnesota Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The lengthy investigation eventually determined that Seeger allegedly received payments for a website that contained sexually graphic images of children.
The complaint says authorities eventually recovered computer information from Seeger's downtown Winona apartment that contained 564 images and five movies that were sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for investigation.
Seeger, who the complaint also says was convicted in 1998 of possession of child pornography, has been ordered to make his initial appearance in Winona District Court on October 30th.
