Mary Stoos, a Legal Assistant Careers instructor at Minnesota State College -Southeast Technical, was honored with the Charlton H. Dietz and Bruce A. Beneke Outstanding Advocate Award and commended for her "extraordinary commitment and effectiveness in serving her clients and her assistance with hundreds of clients annually."
She was co-nominated for the award by two attorneys.
Stoos serves as the Voluntary Attorney Program Coordinator for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, an organization that provides free legal assistance for low-income residents of 33 counties in southern Minnesota.
Stoos began teaching at Southeast Technical in 1999. She has worked in both private and government law offices and is currently employed full time as a legal administrative assistant for Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services.
