T-E-C Refunds

Members of the Tri-County Electric Cooperative are each getting a portion of a $500,000 refund issued by the co-op's board of directors.

The action was taken because the co-op exceeded its financial requirements and is required to return any excess margin to its members or booked as capital credits each year.

President and CEO, Bruce Krambeer, said at a time when the weather has forced members to use more electricity than usual, the co-op's excellent financial condition enables the return of the money to its members.

The amount of the refund will appear on January statements as a credit and is based on the amount of electricity used from January to November of 2013.

In October the co-op returned about $812,000 in capital credits to its members based on member's electric purchases made during some specific years.
