The former Tri-Mac Do-It-Best building center and adjacent unfinished River View condominium project at the foot of Washington Street have been purchased by two Winona County residents. Richard Huber and Allan McCormick, both of La Crescent, have announced preliminary plans for the property.
Huber is founder and CEO of La Crosse Rentals. McCormick is founder and CEO of La Crosse Technology.
The Huber-McCormick plan for the property includes completion and landscaping of the condominium, named Rivers Edge; and, eventual razing of the Tri-mac building center structures, complete clearing of the site, and creation of an area for additional off-street parking.
During completion of the condominium building, the former Tri-Mac store and office will serve as the business office for the developers and as the project construction office.
Construction on the 16-unit development at 2 Washington St. in Winona began in fall 2010, and was ceased in March of 2013. Under new ownership, the completion project has already begun, with first units planned to be available for inspection in mid-2014.
Those with interest in the project can contact the developers at (507) 313-3230.
