La Crerscent farmer Ken Tschumper made it official Monday when he filed for election to the new District 28B seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Tschumper will challenge longtime Republican incumbent Greg Davids of Preston.
It will be a rematch of the 2008 election when Tschumper lost the seat to Davids. Tschumper had defeated Davids in 2006. Davids was first elected in 1990. Tschumper received the DFL endorsement this spring.
Also making it official was First District Congressman Tim Walz who filed for re-election to a fourth two-year term. Walz will face either Mike Parry or Alan Quist in the November election. Those two Republicans will square off in the August 14th primary. Neither one received his party's endorsement.
