Two Winona High Nordic Skiers Qualify For State

The Winona High Nordic ski teams had two individuals qualify for the state meet at yesterday’s Section 1 meet. Kaitlyn Lindaman and Hunter Tibor both finished in the top ten Tuesday to earn their berth to the state meet. Lindaman finished third overall and Christine Young finished 11th as the Winhawks finished third as a team. Lindaman will be making her second appearance at the state meet after she helped lead the Winhawks to a team appearance at last year’s state meet.

The Winona High boys finished second as a team and Hunter Tibor came in 8th place. Alex Stockhausen was next in line for the Winhawks coming in 13th. The state Nordic ski meet is next Thursday at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
