Veteran's Service Officer Resigns



The Buffalo and Pepin County Veterans Service Officer has resigned.
    
Kevin Johnson is leaving the job on Feb. 21st  to accept a position with Bayfield County in Wisconsin, according to a resolution adopted by the Buffalo County Board to refill the position.

Pepin County is contracted with Buffalo County for full-time staffing of veteran services through Dec. 31st, 2016.
    
The two counties split costs of employing a service officer and staffing. The administrative office in Buffalo County was authorized to proceed with seeking applicants for a new service officer.

Wages and benefits tallied $73,500.

The 2-county agreement also includes employment of a benefit specialist to work with veterans.
