WAPS Contract Settlement

The Winona Area Public School Board will be asked Thursday to ratify a new contract with the district's education assistants union.
If approved, it would be the first of the district's unions to settle a new contract.

The settlement includes a 6.5 percent increase over three years retroactive to last July Frist.

Union members would get a 1-percent increase in the first year 2013-14, a 2.-5 percent increase in the second year, 2014-15, and a 3-percent increase in the third year, 2015-16.

The settlement falls within the current budget and parameters established by the school.

The board holds a regular meeting Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
