The Winona Area Public School Board met Monday with Search Consultant Jerry Robicheau, who disclosed the six recommended candidates for superintendent.
The board unanimously approved all six for the next step in the interview process. The board also approved about a dozen questions that the candiates will answer Wednesday, February 12th. There will also be 45 minute question-answer sessions with community, administrator and employee groups that day.
Robicheau says the 23 applicants and the six semi-finalists selected make up a strong pool of candidates.
The six candidates to be interviewed next week include...Steven Flisk, currently the Associate Superintendent of Minneapolis School Systems...Steven Jordahl, Superintendent of the Nacel International School of China...Paul Neubauer, Director of Curriculum and Instruction at St. Francis High School in Minnesota....Patrick Sweeney, Assistant Superintendent at Paradise Valley Unified School District in Phoenix....Steven West, Director of Education Services for Eden Prairie school district...and Ron Wilke, currently the Superintendent of the La Crescent-Hokah Public School District.
A finalist will be selected in early to mid-March and the new superintendent would start July 1st. Current Superintendent, Scott Hannon, will retire at the end of June.
