WSHS Robotics Class

Members of the Winona Senior High School Robotics class gave the Winona Area Public School Board a first hand demonstration of their latest work.

Teacher and Robotics team leader Bill Braun says the students built a frisbee throwing robot and entered into the state tournament against other school's robots.

Braun says the ten student team built the functioning robot in only 6 weeks and did a great job.

The WSHS Robotics team finished 21st out of 60 teams, which was their best finish to date in 5 years.

Braun says the robot shoots the frisbees as far as 50 feet into the air. The students actually gave the school board a demonstration by holding up a blanket to catch the flying frisbee.
