Winona Police said an autopsy will be conducted on the body of a 19 year old Winona State University student who was discovered in a dorm room early Sunday.
Police Sergeant Chris Nelson said authorities were summoned to Morey Hall at 12:51 a.m. Sunday and found Mitchell Grierson of Dassell, Minnesota, unresponsive. Nelson said a former roommate went to the room to check up on Grierson at the request of a third student and notified authorities.
The body was sent to Ramsey County for an autopsy to determine an exact cause of death. Nelson said no foul play is suspected and the death is not suspicious.
Nelson also said authorities are investigating Grierson's activities earlier in the evening Saturday. He said authorities are not aware of any past medical history on Grierson, who enrolled at the university last fall and was a freshman.
Winona State's Vice President for Student Life and Development Connie Gores issued a statement to the WSU community on Sunday informing them of the death
