A Winona police officer is due back in court on February 4th, after being charged last week with two counts of driving while intoxicated.
WCCO Radio and TV reported Ryan Donald Walski appeared in Winona District Court last Thursday.
Walski was cited on November 27th, while off duty when he arrived at City Hall. There he was confronted by Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams who believed Walski may have been intoxicated and Williams then accompanied Walski to Winona Health.
A police report said a blood test returned by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension indicated Walski's blood alcohol content at that time was .22 percent almost twice the legal limit for driving.
Walski has been on the Winona Police force for 12 years.
