Walski Court

A Winona police officer had his release from custody on his own recognizance continued after appearing in Winona District Court Monday.

Ryan Donald Walski appeared on two counts of driving while intoxicated in connection with his arrest last November 27th.

District Judge Terrance Walters set an unconditional bond at $12,000.

As conditions of his release without bond, the Judge ordered Walski to continue with his aftercare from a treatment program Walski had attended.

The judge also set an omnibus, or evidence, hearing for April 8th.

Walski was off duty at the time of his arrest but his blood alcohol content at the time of the arrest was tested at .22, or almost twice the legal limit for driving.

Walski had been on the Winona police force for 12 years at the time of his arrest.
