First District Congressman Tim Walz has been named to the bipartisan Farm Bill Conference Committee.
Committee members from both the House and the Senate are responsible for crafting the final Farm Bill legislation.
Walz is the ranking member of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Conservation, Energy and Forestry.
The committee hopes to work out a deal on a long term Farm Bill that will give rural America certainty.
Walz has been a strong advocate for agriculture and has pushed leadership to move the Farm Bill to conference
Walz said while this process has taken far too long, he pleased the House has taken this step forward. and he looks forward to working with his colleagues in both the House and Senate to produce a bipartisan, long-term Farm Bill that will give certainty to producers and consumers......
