The A score was awarded in the latest update to the Hospital Safety Score. Letter scores assigned to U.S. hospitals are based on preventable medical errors, injuries accidents and infections. A is the highest.
Compiled under the guidance of the nation's leading experts on patient safety, the Hospital Safety Score uses 26 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single score representing a hospital's overall capacity to keep patients safe from infections, injuries, and medical and medication errors.
Winona Health's Chief Quality and Safety Officer, Kathleen Lanik said "Earning an A for patient safety is a goal we're committed to for every patient, every day,"
Lanik said "Every staff member understands that safety is nonnegotiable, and we continuously evaluate and improve our processes to ensure the highest level of quality and safety."
