A tentative date for a groundbreaking ceremony for the Winona Highway 43 Bridge Project has been set.
Mayor Mark Peterson told a Winona Radio audience Thursday it looks like Wednesday, June 18th, will be the date when the five-year project formally kicks off.
Ames Construction Vice President for Structures, Jerry Volz, who will oversee the project for the firm, said earlier this week they are awaiting the approval of one permit final by the U-S Army Corps of Engineers.
Volz told Winona Radio News construction equipment may start moving in soon and the work could start up as soon as June 10th.
Peterson said between 80 and 85 company workers will working on the 150-to-175 million dollar project at one time which is expected to last into 2019.
