WINONA, Minn. (KWNO)-The Winona Main Street Program is set to light up downtown’s newest holiday decoration.
The public is invited to Peter’s Beer Garten for the ceremonial lighting of the holiday tree from 6-7:30 p.m. tonight. The tree was welded together by welding students at MSC Southeast and features over 70 strands of garland with 750 to 1,000 lights says Winona Main Street Program Director Ben Strand.
Pictures with Santa along with free hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and cookies will be on hand. Strand says you can still view the tree if you can’t make tonight’s lighting ceremony.
“It will go on at dusk and it will be on for about five or six hours after dusk,” Strand says. “So roughly 4:30-p.m. until 9:30 or 10 p.m. every night until the end of December.”
