A 42-year-old Winona man was jailed Sunday evening on felony charges that he allegedly assaulted a Minnesota City woman.

Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand said Brian Randall Zachary was charged with first degree burglary, felony assault, and interference with a 9-1-1 call.

Brand said the incident occurred at the woman's residence where a 14-month-old infant was also present.    

Zachary fled the scene and was arrested about three hours later after his vehicle got stuck in a snow bank near Fifth and Orrin Streets and was spotted by  patrolling officer.

Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams Zachary was uncooperative and had to be tased twice before he could be apprehended.
City charges included fifth degree possession of a controlled substance, obstruction with force, and possession of two hypodermic syringes.
