The Miss Winona Scholarship Pageant has begun a search for contestants.
                  
This year's pageant will be held on Thursday, September 13th, and the winner will compete in the 2013 Miss Minnesota Scholarship Pageant...in addition to serving as an ambassador for the City of Winona.
                  
Contestants must be between the ages of 17 and 24 on or before December 31st, 2012. They must also be a resident, student, or employee in the Winona area, be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities of Miss Winona 2012.
                  
Educational scholarships will be awarded to the new Miss Winona and the  first runner-up.  The winner will assume the crown from Miss Winona 2011, Shelby Siemek. Shelby won the crown while a student at St. Mary's University.

This not to be confused with the Miss Steamboat Days competition being sponsored by the Steamboat Days Festival Committee. The deadline to enter that contest is Monday, May 21st.
                 
Contestants must be a junior or senior at Winona High, Cotter High or Hope Lutheran High school.  Miss Steamboat Days will reign over this year's Steamboat Days and represent the festival in several activities and parades this summer.
