Southeast Tech Addition

Minnesota State College--Southeast Technical broke ground Tuesday on a new building that will house some of the programs that were formerly at the college's airport campus.

President Jim Johnson called it the culmination of six to seven years in planning and downsizing to bring new technology to the school that sets an example in Minnesota.  Johnson also said the 25,000 square foot, $2.3 million, addition to the truck driver training center will allow the school to deliver a quality stat of the art education at a reasonable price.

Over 200 students in the seven programs will be affected by the construction and remodeling of the main campus facilities.  Johnson said it's hoped the new Transportation Building will be completed by this coming Labor Day.
