The team physician for Winona State University Athletics has been chosen to receive a statewide award.
The university says Dr. Richard Romeyn has received the 2012 Larry "Stosh" Neumann Distinguished Service Award from the Minnesota Athletic Trainer's Association.
Romeyn has served as WSU's team physician and the medical director for the school's nationally-accredited Athletic Training Education program, for 20 years.
The award is given to individuals who have made special contributions in the field of Sports Medicine over a long period of time.
Recipients have been advocates in the advancement t of athletic training and athletic trainers in the state of Minnesota.
