Cotter Softball Season Comes To An End

The Cotter softball team fell short of a state tournament berth Thursday when the Ramblers lost to second ranked Kasson-Mantorville in the Section 1AA championship game 6-0. Kasson-Mantorville’s star freshman pitcher Maddie Damon kept Cotter in check throwing a two-hitter while striking out eight. Damon has a .37 ERA this season and last night was her 12th shutout of the season.

Cotter finishes the season 11-15 and this is the first losing record for the Ramblers in 19 years. The last time Cotter had a losing record in softball was in head coach Pat Bowlin’s first year at Cotter back in 1993.
