Car vs Pedestrian

Winona Police said an 84-year-old Winona woman was injured when she was struck by a car in downtown Winona Wednesday.

Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams Doris June Drazkowski was attempting to cross Fifth Street at its intersection with Main when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Kevin Spalding of Winona.  Spalding told officers he was parked on Fifth Street facing east and when he pulled away from the curb Drazkowski stepped in front of his vehicle.

Drazkowski, who was not in the crosswalk, was taken to Winona Heath complaining of injuries.  Spalding was not charged.  The incident was reported about 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
