Winona County Engineer David Kraemer says that work is progressing nicely on construction of Winona County's first roundabout intersection. That work, however, will make things more difficult for commuters in as little as two week's time when a segment of Pleasant Valley Road is closed to traffic altogether.
Thus far drivers have been able to navigate the construction site. But Kraemer says starting in about two weeks Pleasant Valley Road will be closed to all traffic at the project site. He says there may be relatively short notice before the closure takes place.
The contractor has up to 40 business days...or eight weeks...to complete the work and re-open Pleasant Valley Road. And he says the contractor should be highly motivated to get the work done in those 40 business days.
The newly imrpoved Home Road will feature a fifth center lane for left turns, as well as improved access to Minnesota State College - Southeast Technical. The improved Pleasant Valley Road will also slope more gradually to its intersection with Homer Road. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in October of this year.
