The Winona Steamboat Days Committee has announced that John and Fran Edstrom have been chosen as grand marshals for the 65th Annual Steamboat Days Grande Parade coming up next Sunday, June 17th.
The Edstroms are the founders and owners of the Winona Post which has been in operation in one form or another since 1971.
It started out as the Winona Shopper. A Saturday Morning Post was added in 1978. The two publications merged in 1982, and subsequently became the Winona Post.
It currently employs 42 full and part-time workers and has 125 carriers with a circulation of 24-thousand.
The Grande Parade will kickoff at 12:31p.m. next Sunday.
Steamboat days runs from Wednesday through Sunday.
