Winona County Board members unanimously decided not to continue participating in a delivery plan for a proposed 12 county regional human service redesign, but left open the possibility of establishing a smaller collaboration in the future.
County Administrator Duane Hebert said Winona County will consider a smaller service delivery authority in the future based on its current collaboration with Fillmore County. Commissioner Jim Pomeroy said the county has a good start in its own redesign.
The board passed a second motion to have county staff look at opportunities to collaborate with other counties in a smaller group. Goodhue County has expressed an interest in a possible collaboration.
