Beginning on Monday, June 18th the Highway 43 bridge in Winona will have some temporary lane closures and delays. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says it will be due to an annual bridge inspection.
The equipment needed to conduct the inspection requires a lane closure and traffic will be reduced to one lane controlled by flaggers between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Both lanes will be open each evening after the work is completed. The inspection and closures are expected to last through next Friday, June 22nd.
Routine inspection of bridges over the Mississippi River are conducted each year and an in-depth inspection takes place every other year.
