This Monday, June 18th, Winona area residents will be the first to get a preview look at a new film showing how Luxemburgers, who emigrated to the US, made their home in Winona County.
Spokesperson Mary Nilles told a Winona Radio audience it's the culmination of a seven-year project that started in 2005 that depicts the history and evolving culture of the Luxemburgers in this area.
Nilles says the 60 minute DVD will also be shown in Washington, DC next week, June 23rd, by the Luxemburg ambassador, and then in August it will premier at the Luxemburg American Cultural Conference in the Milwaukee area.
Monday's showing at the Alverna Center, on the former St. Teresa College campus, will begin at 7:00 p.m. It's free and open to the public. Nilles says on hand Monday will be Luxemburg's Director of the Ministry of Culture.
