Miss Wisconsin
The Coulee Region was well represented in the Miss Wisconsin Pageant as Onalaska's Kate Gorman took the crown, and two fellow University of Wisconsin-La Crosse students were named runners up.
The 23-year old Gorman outshined 22 other women for the title at Oshkosh West High School's Civil Auditorium as the pageant marked its 50th year. She was crowned Saturday night by Miss Wisconsin 2011, Raeanna Johnson of Holmen.
According to the La Crosse Tribune, it was the second trip to the pageant for Gorman, who graduated in May from UW-L with a degree in communications.
Gorman will compete for the Miss America crown January 8-12 in Las Vegas.
First runner-up, 23-year old Kathryn Williams of Wisconsin Rapids is a fellow UW-L graduate, and second runner-up 22-year old Elizabeth Kramer of Holmen is a current student.
