Habitat for Humanity-Winona Fillmore County has announced the start of its 46th home which will be sponsored by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.
          
The 1,300-square-foot, three-bedroom home in Winona will be purchased by Khoua & Lee Yang and their two children.

The house at 190 Edward Street to marks the beginning of this  partnership between the Yang family, the local Habitat affiliate and Federal Home Loan Bank.

Megan Feld, Senior Communications Coordinator for the bank, says Winona was chosen as the starting point for building because of the strong partnership the bank has with Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota and its affiliates.
         
Feld says over the course of this week, over a dozen volunteers from the Bank will come together to complete the exterior of the Yang family home as well as getting to know Winona better.

In addition to volunteer hours, FHLB Des Moines is making a $75,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity Winona-Fillmore Counties to finance construction of the Yang ome.
