The Winona Buddies VFW baseball team continued its perfect start on Saturday sweeping Northfield in a doubleheader 8-0 and 11-1. Drew Thompson threw six shutout innings in the first game giving up three hits and five walks. Chris Hanson went 2-4 with a RBI to lead the offense.

Nick Wiseman and Nick Walters both had two hits in the second game while Wiseman also drove in three runs. Three pitchers combined to give the Buddies the win in the second game. The Buddies are 8-0 so far this season and they are 5-0 in First District action.
