Winona natives Garrett and Elliott Heath will both be running in the U.S. Olympic Trials tonight in Eugene, Oregon. Garrett will compete in the 1500 meter run quarterfinals at 6:20 p.m. while Elliott will run in the finals of the 5000 meter run at 9:38. Elliott qualified for the finals by finishing sixth in his prelim heat on Monday night.

Garrett competed in the last Olympic Trials in 2008 and he made it to the semifinals of the 1500 meters. Elliott’s 5000 meter race can be seen tonight on the NBC sports network, which is channel 35 on HBC Cable and 33 on Charter. Garrett’s race will not be televised.
