Winona Police are investigating the discovery of a body found lying in a grassy area at the intersection of Highway 61 and Highway 43 in the city's east end.
Police Chief Paul Bostrack said the man was discovered about 8:15 a.m. and when officers arrived at the scene he was deceased. Bostrack said the body was transferred for an autopsy.
He said the man's name is not being immediately released until positive identification can be made and family can be notified. Bostrack said the initial investigation and scene did not provide anything that would indicate suspicious circumstances or foul play.
