The Winona Park Recreation Department says a new playground will be installed at the East End Recreation Center starting in mid-July.  Not only will the playground be new...it will also boast a new design concept called a "Playscape."
                 
The design calls for a series of destinations rather than a piece of equipment and the placemaking strategy says the playground features should host a wide range of uses and activities, and be inviting to a variety of ages and groups of people.  The park will be built to help support Winona's mission of being named an official "Playful City."       
                
The Park Rec Department is also accepting volunteer help with the installation, planting and watering of the new park.  If you are interested call the Park Rec office at 457-8258.
