Authorities say a 7 year old boy who nearly drowned in a private swimming pool on Wednesday is expected to return home from a La Crosse hospital soon.
Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand said Noah Andrew Bonsell is recovering from his close call which happened at a residence in Cedar Valley on Independence Day. The sheriff's department said Noah was with friends and family at the residence when he was spotted in the above-ground pool about 6:30 p.m.
He was not breathing when he was pulled by a family member and was administered CPR by his mother. Authorities said the boy had regained consciousness by the time first responders arrived on the scene. He was then flown to a La Crosse where he was treated.
