An open house will be held this Monday, July 9th, in Rochester for the public to get information on a study being conducted on the possible relocation of the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern railroad tracks to south of Rochester.
The open house will be held on the Southern Rail Corridor Feasibility Study and Analysis.
The study is evaluating the need to mitigate or relocate the existing DM&E freight rail line in Rochester to accommodate a potential increase in train traffic. The open house will be held Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rochester International Airport Center. A presentation will be made at 6:00 p.m.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Olmsted County Regional Railroad Authority are leading the collborative effort.
