Two sisters from Buffalo County who teach at University of Wisconsin Stout in Menomonie were given outstanding teacher service awards. Kathy and Joan Navarre were among eight faculty members chosen by students to receive Outstanding Teacher Awards.
Both women are graduates of Cochrane-Fountain City School. It's the first time the university has awards going to sisters. Kathy Navarre was recognized by students for her teaching of psychology and Joan Navarre was selected for award winning service in English and philosophy.
Both women will be among award recipients recognized by university chancellor Charles Sorensen during his academic year address at Stout on August 27th.
