Trempealeau County Emergency Government Director Dan Schreiner has announced that a burning ban is now in place for nearly the entire Trempealeau County until further notice.
                 
The Sheriff's Department says 12 different fire departments in the county have been notified of the burning ban and those include departments in Eleva, Strum, Arcadia, Independence, Dodge, Galesville, and Trempealeau.
                 
Schreiner says the ban does not include the Township and Village of Pigeon falls at this time. but the absence of the ban in that area does not indicate it is safe to burn in that area.
