The Winona Chiefs amateur baseball team split a doubleheader with Hayfield, who is in second place in the Twin Rivers League. The Chiefs won the first game 8-4 while the Heat won the second game 8-4. Chris Pettit gave up one earned run and ten hits in the first game to get the win for the Chiefs. Lance Jensen went 2 for 4 and hit a homerun for Winona.

Brandon Beech had three of the Chiefs eight hits in the game two loss. Winona is now 13-6 overall and 11-4 in the Twin Rivers League. The Chiefs will host the St. Charles Sting on Wednesday in their next game.
