Hope Lutheran High School in Winona plans to begin a tenth anniversary yearlong celebration on August 12th.
The school was established in 2003 by an association of Missouri Synod Lutheran Churches and has just completed its ninth year renting space from St. Martin's Lutheran Church and School. Administrator Rocky Sandcork says it is the intention of the association to secure a larger facility in the future.
A few years ago land located along Winona County Road 25 between Rollingstone and Lewiston was donated as a possible site of a new school in the future. Hope Lutheran has grown from a staff of one full-time teacher and four part-time instructors, plus seven students in 2003, to 48 students this past school year.
The tenth-year celebration will begin with a a special kickoff at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12th, featuring a performance by the vocal group, the Winona Hims.
