Quist Fundraising
First District Republican Congressional candidate Alan Quist raised a little over 178-thousand dollars in the second quarter of 2012 and had 165-thousand dollars on hand for the primary election that will be held on August 14th.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported neither current incumbent Democrat Tim Walz, and Quist's Republican primary opponent, Mike Parry, have released their second quarter fundraising totals.
Quist told the newspaper he plans to ramp up fundraising efforts with Congressman Michelle Bachman who is a longtime Quist associate, and who plans to speak at a pair of fundraising events next week in Rochester.
Quist also is planning to spend 100-thousand dollars on television advertising in his district prior to the primary election.....
