The Winona Buddies played in a tournament in St. Cloud over the weekend and Winona won two games yesterday to go 2-3 in the tournament. The Buddies blanked Duluth 4-0 as Drew Fakler and Zach Hefel combined to throw a three-hitter. Hefel also had a pair of hits in the win.

The Buddies pounded St. Cloud Apollo 16-4 in five innings after losing to them twice earlier this season. Fakler went 3 for 3 and drove in five while Brian Puetz had three hits and drove in two.

Winona improves to 17-6 and they will host South St. Paul on Tuesday in a non-league game.
