A crime alert issued Tuesday by the Plainview Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for a missing man was withdrawn Wednesday when the man's body was located.

The Plainview Police Department said the body of Edward Kruger was located in Wisconsin. Authorities said he was apparently killed in a traffic crash but no other details were released.

Authorities had said Kruger had last been seen on June 29th when he left Chicago, Illinois, enroute to Elgin.

He was driving a 1994 Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The state crime lab said Wisconsin authorities were handling the remainder of the investigation.
