Two felons who walked away from a Black River Falls prison stole a fourth car late Wednesday or early today and "could be anywhere" by now, authorities said.
Monroe County Sheriff Pete Quirin says they don't believe they're in Monroe County.
18-year old James Misleveck and 29-year old James Newman swiped the unlocked 1996 black Concord with license plate 728-TDX from a Clifton, Wis., driveway sometime between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. The home is about one mile from a cornfield where they ditched their last stolen car.
The La Crosse Tribune report authorities searched for the fugitives until dark Wednesday. The search is not concentrated in any specific county at this point.
Police recovered their stolen shotgun, but the men still should be considered armed and dangerous, the sheriff said
The men left the minimum-security Black River Correctional Center about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. They took a shotgun and ammunition from a car parked near the facility about seven hours later.
They stole a car from a house and drove it to the Ho-Chunk Black River Falls casino, where they kidnapped a woman at gunpoint about 5:30 a.m..
They forced the woman to drive to Tomah and then headed back to Sparta before releasing her at a Kwik Trip. The men told her they planned to leave Wisconsin.
