Trempealeau County authorities conducted a search Saturday night after a motorist reported he struck a pedestrian who ran from the scene.
The sheriff's department said Bradley Olson of Whitehall reported he was northbound on County "O" in Hale Township about 10:00 p.m. Saturday when he struck a man who had been walking in the southbound lane. Olson told authorities the man ran out in front of his vehicle suddenly. But after the incident the pedestrian fled the scene.
The sheriff's department conducted an extensive search of the area using a thermal camera but authorities were unable to come up with the victim believed to have been an Hispanic male. The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department is seeking information from the public on the identity and whereabouts of the man.
