The Winona VFW Buddies earned a trip to the First District Tournament after splitting with the Rochester John Marshall Rockets this weekend. The Buddies lost 4-2 in the first game but hung on for a 4-3 win in the second game. Patrick McNally went 2 for 3 and drove in two in the second game while Brian Puetz had a pair of hits in the first game.

The Buddies improve to 21-7 and they now head to the First District Final Four this weekend. The winner of the Final Four will head to the State VFW Tournament where the Buddies finished second last year. The Final Four will be played in Rochester and the Buddies will be the second seed.
